Product description: Black cod [or sablefish] portions are cut to weigh 5 ounces. Each portion is individually vacuum-packed and frozen. A single serving of black cod is considered 3 oz. Each portion provides approximately 1.5 servings.

Flavor profile: Intensely flavorful! Black cod is considered to be the butter of the sea. It’s unctuous, fat-rich quality contributes to its rich, yet sweet flavor.

Texture profile: Flakey, velvety, and a bit oily.

Bone notes: All portions may contain bones. These bones are easy to remove, especially after cooking, if desired.

Skin notes: We elect to keep the skin on our black cod portions. Keeping the skin on adds flavor when cooking, helps protect the fish from overcooking, and ensures that the delicate flesh remains intact.

Preparation tips: Great for smoking, sauteing, poaching or roasting. Black cod tends to melt in your mouth and is difficult to overcook due to its high oil content.
